Meet The Seahorses
Seahorses belong to the Syngnathidae family, and there are over 40 species swimming around our oceans today! Some seahorses live in coral reefs, while others call mangrove roots and grass meadows their home.
Seahorses are curious little creatures that are at risk from ocean pollution, overfishing, habitat destruction, and illegal trade.
Visit the best place to see seahorses - the Kingdom of the Seahorse exhibit! You can say hello to our Pacific Seahorses, which are local to the California coast, as well as meet other awesome seahorse species like the Pot-bellied Seahorse, White’s Seahorse and Lined Seahorse.

Conservation of Seahorses
We care deeply about our oceans and their precious creatures. Under our ethos ‘BREED, RESCUE, PROTECT’, we have established breeding programs to better understand seahorse species and educate guests on how to make sustainable choices to prevent overfishing. We have successfully bred 1,500+ seahorses here at SEA LIFE®!
The SEA LIFE® Trust supports projects and campaigns to protect marine wildlife, including seahorses, and we work with various partners to actively protect the most threatened species. Through this charity, we focus on habitat preservation and combating illegal trade.
