LEGOLAND New York Teams Up With Local Businesses for "Brick-or-Treat 2018" Print
Halloween Celebration Draws Kids from Across the Hudson Valley
GOSHEN, NY (October 31, 2018) – Hundreds of trick-or-treaters from around the Hudson Valley put on their most bricktastic Halloween costumes and headed to the LEGOLAND® New York Resort Community Welcome Center for a spooktacular celebration – and the chance to meet LEGOLAND New York’s newest costumed character, Count de Bricks – at Brick-or-Treat 2018!
“This is our way of giving families in the Hudson Valley a taste of what Brick-or-Treat will be like when LEGOLAND New York Resort opens in 2020,” said LEGOLAND New York Public Relations Manager Matt Besterman. “At our sister Resorts in Florida and California, Brick-or-Treat is a month-long event with special events every Saturday night and trick-or-treating throughout the Park. Even though our Park is still under construction, we wanted to bring some of that excitement here to Goshen.”
Kids and their families were invited to trick-or-treat in the neighborhood around the Community Welcome Center, where special signs pointed them to participating local businesses for the chance to collect LEGO® themed treats, including commemorative DUPLO® bricks, minifigures, and Halloween hats.
Then, participants were invited back to the Welcome Center where the celebration continued with a costume contest and a game where kids were asked to guess the number of bricks in a LEGO pumpkin. Prizes included sets of four tickets to LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Westchester.
When it opens in spring 2020, LEGOLAND New York Resort will feature 50 interactive rides, shows and attractions, all designed for kids age 2-12 and their families, as well as a 250-room LEGO themed hotel from the outset. At 150 acres, it will be the largest LEGOLAND Resort ever developed by Merlin Entertainments plc.
