LEGOLAND® Dubai Celebrates UAE National Day with a special Salute LEGO® Model to Honor the Spirit of the Union Print

Honouring the UAE, the park will celebrate National Day with a special surprise UAE Salute LEGO® Model appearing at FACTORY street made from over 100,000 bricks

Celebrations will run from 28 November – 3 December

Dubai, 20 November 2018: In honor of the UAE’s 47th National Day, LEGOLAND® Dubai, part of Dubai Parks and Resorts, the largest integrated theme park destination in the region, is gearing up for exciting celebrations over the upcoming National Day weekend. In addition to National Day themed activities and tasty treats for the entire family, the park is set to reveal its very own, specially designed LEGO® model to celebrate the occasion.

Taking place from 28 November – 3 December, LEGOLAND Dubai will showcase its specially designed Salute LEGO® Model, made solely out of LEGO bricks. The three-finger salute popularized by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, represents win, victory, and love, and symbolises work ethic, success, and love of the nation. Since its inception in 2013, the Three Finger Salute has become a trademark of the nation, locals, expats, and prominent Emiratis have adopted it as a symbol of love for the UAE.

The model, which stands at 2.8 metres tall and weighs in at 300kg has been made with an astonishing 108,231 LEGO bricks, and took over 900 hours to design and build. The spirit of the Union also rings true with the model, as it was created with red, green, white and black LEGO bricks – the colours of the UAE flag.

In addition to viewing the Salute Model, families can take part in a number of activities at LEGOLAND Dubai over the National Day weekend, including a fun UAE history scavenger hunt in MINILAND for a chance to win a LEGO Burj Khalifa box set; as well as help build a four-meter-long National Day LEGO mosaic.

Restaurants in the park will also celebrate National Day in style with themed food and beverages – be sure to tuck into burger sliders with the buns in UAE flag colours, hand-made fresh gnocchi in UAE colours, and of course traditional Arabic coffee and sweets amongst other tasty treats.

On your way out, don’t forget to pick up your very own special limited-edition LEGO collector brick for every guest in the park.
