Safety measures: In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have introduced specific safety measures at each of our Attractions in an effort to safeguard the health, safety and wellbeing of persons visiting our Attractions. A full list of safety measures being taken at our Attraction will be made available on the website. 

Visitor requirementsThe safety measures put in place in response to the Covid-19 pandemic are there to safeguard the safety and wellbeing of all guests visiting our Attraction. It is in the interest of everyone at our Attraction to comply with the safety measures that have been put in place. Therefore, should an individual not comply with these safety measures, we reserve the right to require that individual to leave the Attraction in accordance with these terms and conditions.

Acceptance of risk: The safety measures that are being and have been introduced are intended to minimize the risk of contracting the Covid-19 virus but this risk cannot be completely eradicated.  Therefore, anyone visiting our Attractions acknowledge that they do so at their own risk.

UPDATES

CARLSBAD, CA (Tuesday, December 8, 2020) - In accordance with the regional stay-at-home order issued by the state of California, LEGOLAND® California Resort is not only ceasing the Holidays at LEGOLAND experience, but is also closing both LEGOLAND Hotel and LEGOLAND® Castle Hotel as of today. The Big Shop, which holds the largest selection of LEGO® products on the west coast, will remain open for holiday shopping at 20% capacity as well as curbside pickup. The health and safety of our guests and our staff is always our top priority and we look forward to welcoming guests back sometime in 2021.

CARLSBAD, CA (Wednesday, November 11, 2020) - Beginning Saturday, November 14, 2020, SEA LIFE® aquarium at LEGOLAND® California Resort will be obligated to close its doors once again until further notice in accordance with the new state and county mandate under Tier 1. The safety and health of our guests, staff and sea animals remain our top priority as we navigate through these unpredictable times. Holidays at LEGOLAND FAQs

With changes in the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and as a result of the new local and state restrictions announced earlier this week, we have cancelled the remainder of our Holidays at LEGOLAND events. The health and safety of our guests and our staff are always our top priority and we’ll continue to follow the safety measures recommended within the federal, state and CDC guidelines.

Will I be refunded?

You will receive a full refund for any Holidays at LEGOLAND ticket purchases, as well as extras purchased such as Santa’s Secret Gift. The full amount will be credited to your original payment method. Please allow 14 business days for the refunded balance to show on your account.

Can I still purchase a Santa’s Secret Gift?

Guests still wishing to purchase the Santa’s Secret Gift item can do so at The Big Shop, which remains open to the public and offers the largest selection of LEGO products on the West Coast. Is all of LEGOLAND® California Resort shut?

HOTEL CLOSURE FAQs

I have an existing hotel reservation to stay before January 14, 2021. What should I do?

Guests with an existing Hotel booking will receive an email outlining their options. The email will link to a form where you can let us know which option you’ve chosen. Due to an unprecedented number of calls, our phone lines are experiencing unusually long hold times, so using the online form is the best way to let us know what you want to do with your reservation.

I have an existing hotel reservation to stay between January 14 and March 27, 2021.  What should I do?

For now, we ask for your patience. After January 1, 2021 we should have a better idea of how long the hotel closure may last.

When are the LEGOLAND California Resort Hotels scheduled to reopen?

The LEGOLAND California Resort Hotels are closed until further notice. At this time, we do not have a reopening date.

PEACE OF MIND POLICY

LEGOLAND® California Resort is built for kids. Our vacations, including LEGOLAND theme park, water parks, SEA LIFE® Aquarium and onsite hotels, are built for families. That means we are in the business of making it as easy as possible for you to build your memories with us. For that reason, we have launched our “Peace of Mind Policy” for booking vacation packages and for our Annual Passholders and ticket holders.

Annual Passes and Tickets

All active and new Annual Passholders, who are not currently enrolled in Monthly Pay, will receive an extension of one month for every month that the Park is closed based on the valid dates for their existing pass. All active Monthly Pay Passholders will have their monthly payments suspended starting April 1, 2020 until the Park reopens. Specific regarding the pass extensions and/or reinstatement of the monthly payments for specific pass types will be updated upon announcement of a reopening date for LEGOLAND California Resort.  Regular Annual Pass terms & conditions apply per pass type as outlined in the terms & conditions specific to each pass type.

Any unused tickets that were valid for specific dates during the announced closure period (excludes FLEX tickets) commencing March 16 through to reopening will be valid to use as regular admission on any valid day (based on the ticket type purchased) for the rest of 2020, upon reopening, with no additional fee. Regular terms & conditions for tickets, as outlined during purchase, still apply.

Vacations: For Bookings Between March 9, 2020 and June 17, 2020

Peace of Mind Policy: All reservations made between March 9, 2020 and June 17, 2020 may be rescheduled up to 4 P.M. Pacific Time 5 days prior to scheduled arrival date free of charge. Any changes to your reservation are subject to availability and new room rates may apply. If you made your booking within 5 days of arrival, no cancellations, changes or refunds are allowed. In the event of no-show, all monies are forfeited.  Tickets and Extras are non-refundable once issued, but may be used up to one year from the original reservation date.

Cancellation Policy for Reservations with Flexible Cancellation: If you booked on or before June 17, 2020 and opted to purchase Flexible Cancellation, you may change or cancel your reservation up to 4 P.M. Pacific Time 5 days prior to scheduled arrival date. Any changes to your reservation are subject to availability and new room rates may apply.  If cancellation occurs by 4 P.M. Pacific Time 5 days prior to scheduled arrival date, then full payment is refunded in the original form of payment, minus the non-refundable Flexible Cancellation fee.  If cancellation occurs after 4 P.M. Pacific Time 5 days prior to scheduled arrival date or in the event of a no-show, then all monies are forfeited. No cancellations or modifications are allowed within 5 days of arrival. Tickets and Extras are non-refundable once issued, but may be used up to one year from the original reservation date.

Please note that the LEGOLAND Vacations Flexible Cancellation option is not typical travel insurance. If you are looking to insure your upcoming vacation, please contact an independent travel insurance provider.

Vacations: Temporary Policy for Bookings after June 18, 2020

Peace of Mind Policy: For a limited time, all reservations made on or after June 18, 2020 may be rescheduled up to 4 P.M. Pacific Time 2 days prior to scheduled arrival date free of charge. Any changes to your reservation are subject to availability and new room rates may apply. If you made your booking within 2 days of arrival, no cancellations, changes or refunds are allowed. In the event of no-show, all monies are forfeited. Tickets and Extras are non-refundable once issued, but may be used up to one year from the original reservation date.

Cancellation Policy for Reservations with Flexible Cancellation: If you booked on or after June 18, 2020 and opted to purchase Flexible Cancellation, you may change or cancel your reservation up to 4 P.M. Pacific Time 2 days prior to scheduled arrival date. Any changes to your reservation are subject to availability and new room rates may apply. If cancellation occurs by 4 P.M. OTHER FAQs

LEGOLAND Vacations and LEGOLAND Hotel Guests

Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, we have been forced to temporarily close our Resort and, since the temporary closing of the Resort is due to circumstances beyond our control, we are currently rescheduling all existing LEGOLAND Vacations package reservations.  Subject to change if the Resort has not been permitted by Government authorities to reopen by that time.

If you have made a reservation through LEGOLAND Vacations and have an arrival date prior to the Park’s reopening, you will receive an email prior to your scheduled arrival with instructions on your booking options. It will be addressed from LEGOLAND@LEGOLAND.com.

Please be advised that we are currently experiencing heavy call volume and prioritizing guests with arrivals within the next 5 days. We ask that you use the contact options in the email referenced above for the most expedited service from our team. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

LEGOLAND Day Ticket Holders
Tickets Purchased online at LEGOLAND.com:

For guests who have unused LEGOLAND, SEA LIFE Aquarium and LEGOLAND Water Park tickets that are dated or expire within the impacted period, expiration dates have been automatically extended until January 31, 2022 with the following blackout dates:

  • Memorial Day Weekend May 28-30, 2021
  • July 2-4, 2021
  • All Saturdays in July and August
  • Labor Day Weekend September 4-6, 2021
  • All Saturdays in October
  • December 26, 2021 – January 1, 2022

For guests who have purchased the 5 Days for the Price of 1 Day ticket offer, the expiration date of these tickets have been automatically extended with a new expiration date of January 31, 2022 with first visit having to have occurred by January 27, 2022.

Tickets Purchased from a Third Party (Not purchased directly from LEGOLAND):
Ticket expiration dates are usually valid for up to one year. Please contact the third-party vendor where purchased directly for any questions or concerns.

COSTCO Buddy Tickets + Play Pass Redemption
Unused Buddy Tickets as of March 14, 2020 have been extended to visit through January 31, 2022 with the following Blackout dates:

  • Memorial Day Weekend May 28-30, 2021
  • July 2-4, 2021
  • All Saturdays in July and August
  • Labor Day Weekend September 4-6, 2021
  • All Saturdays in October
  • December 26, 2021 – January 1, 2022

The COSTCO Play Pass redemption deadline has been extended to September 30th, 2021. Please note that all visits will require an online reservation prior to arrival. Our online reservation system will be made available upon confirmation of a reopening date.

School Groups, Youth Groups and Scouts
We will work with your group on changes to your reservations for those who have reservations during the impacted period of February 1, 2020 through to reopening).

Please call our Groups Call Center at 760-438-5346. Available 7 Days a week, 7am – 3pm PST. We anticipate high call volumes over the next few days and appreciate your patience as our team works through all inquiries.

VIP Experiences
We will work with your VIP group on changes to your reservations for those who have reservations during the impacted period of February 1, 2020 through to reopening.

Existing LEGOLAND Annual Passes, Monthly Pay Memberships, and Play Pass Holders*

All active Annual Pass Members and Play Pass Holders, who are not currently enrolled in Monthly Pay, will receive an extension in monthly increments depending on the amount of time LEGOLAND California is closed.

All active Monthly Pay Pass Members in good standing will have their monthly payments suspended for the months we are closed automatically. There may be further adjustments depending on how long LEGOLAND California is closed and further communication will inform you of any further changes.
